The 86-year-old actor has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai since October 8, 2025. He is being treated for severe sepsis, a dangerous infection that can be life-threatening. Reports suggest that his medical expenses have already crossed ₹10 lakh and may rise to ₹15 lakh as his treatment continues. His family has appealed for financial help from well-wishers and members of the film industry.
