Smriti met Shah Rukh Khan through her husband, Zubin Irani. She said she often asked Zubin to arrange a meeting with the actor, and when she finally met him, Shah Rukh jokingly told her, “Don’t get married.” Smriti laughed and replied, “Too late, Bhai!” This lighthearted conversation has remained a memorable moment for her.

She also shared her first experience on a film set, which coincidentally involved Shah Rukh. Smriti said that during her very first shoot, she was only a silhouette and had to wear a black outfit similar to the one Manisha Koirala wore in the movie Akele Hum Akele Tum. She recalled a funny incident where Salman and her husband, when they were school friends, used to steal her father-in-law’s car. Her father-in-law, veteran writer Salim Khan, jokingly scolded them, leaving Smriti in stitches. She said, “I didn’t know where to look!” while remembering how both boys looked down sheepishly.
