Rajat recalled in an interview with Siddharth Kannan that although Govinda was a kind and talented actor, he had a habit of taking on too much work at once. The shoot for Jodi No. 1, directed by David Dhawan, was supposed to start at 7 am, but Sanjay Dutt and Rajat Bedi were present at the set from 6 am. They waited for Govinda, only to find out he was at home. A team member was sent to bring him, but Govinda was flying in from Hyderabad and reached the set only by 3 pm.

By that time, Sanjay Dutt had grown frustrated and reportedly abused the assistant who handed over the script. Some scenes even had to be rewritten on the spot to accommodate the delay. Despite the long wait, Govinda managed to shoot his scenes efficiently and completed his work in just two hours, demonstrating his skill and professionalism.

Jodi No. 1 is a comedy about two clever crooks, Jai (Sanjay Dutt) and Veeru (Govinda), who use their wit to outsmart others. The film, filled with humour, catchy songs, and witty dialogues, became a commercial success and is still remembered as one of the most entertaining films of the early 2000s. The chemistry between Govinda and Sanjay Dutt was especially praised by audiences.

Rajat Bedi’s story highlights the challenges actors face on film sets, especially when dealing with busy schedules and delays. It also shows Govinda’s dedication to his craft, as he was able to deliver a strong performance despite the difficulties.
