Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra faced a setback in their international travel plans due to a legal case. The Bombay High Court recently rejected their plea to suspend the Look Out Circular (LOC) against them. This LOC was issued in connection with a ₹60 crore fraud case linked to their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra Travel Blocked by Court
The couple had planned a vacation in Phuket, Thailand, from October 2 to 5, 2025. Flights and hotels were already booked, but the court’s decision stopped them from going abroad. Lawyers for Shilpa and Raj argued that the couple had previously traveled internationally during the ongoing investigation and always returned to cooperate with authorities. They requested similar consideration for this trip. However, the court was not convinced and asked the Public Prosecutor to submit a detailed response.
The petition also mentioned several upcoming overseas trips, including visits to Los Angeles, Colombo, the Maldives, Dubai, and London. The couple explained that these trips were for both personal and business purposes, including expanding their hospitality venture, Hotel Bastian.

The fraud case itself was filed by Deepak Kothari of UY Industries Pvt. Ltd. He claimed that between 2015 and 2023, he was misled into investing ₹60.48 crore in Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd. Kothari alleged that Shilpa Shetty personally guaranteed the deal. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is investigating the matter thoroughly.
Legal experts have said that the court’s decision balances individual rights with the need to protect ongoing investigations. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra remain innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.

This case has drawn considerable public attention due to the involvement of high-profile personalities. The court’s firm stance emphasizes that no one is above the law, regardless of celebrity status. The couple will have to await further hearings before they can travel internationally for personal or business purposes.
