Malayalam superstar Mammootty is back on the sets after taking a short break due to health concerns. The veteran actor has resumed work on his upcoming espionage thriller, Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The film features a star-studded cast, including Mohanlal, Kunchako Boban, Fahadh Faasil, and Nayanthara. Fans of Mammootty are excited to see him back in action after eight months away from filming.
Mammootty Returns to Film Patriot After Health
On Tuesday, Mammootty shared a photo on social media showing himself in an orange shirt, white pants, and black sunglasses. Along with the photo, he wrote, “Back to doing what I love most in life after a short break. Words aren’t enough to thank everyone who checked on me during my absence. The camera is calling.” His post reflects the actor’s enthusiasm to return to work and his gratitude toward fans for their support.
Anto Joseph, the producer of Patriot, also confirmed Mammootty’s return through an Instagram post. He expressed his happiness, saying that the actor would join the Hyderabad schedule starting October 1. Joseph thanked everyone who prayed for Mammootty’s recovery and supported him during the difficult period.
Mammootty had taken a break earlier this year due to health-related reasons. Rumors about serious illness, including cancer, circulated in March, but his team denied them. By August, the actor confirmed that he had recovered and was ready to return to work. Mohanlal, Mammootty’s longtime friend and frequent co-star, also shared that he prayed for him during his treatment and that the actor was now fit to resume dubbing and shooting.
