Tiger Shroff’s latest action film Baaghi 4 released in theatres on Friday with high expectations. The movie also stars Sanjay Dutt and Harnaaz Sandhu. Fans of the franchise were excited, as the previous Baaghi films were known for action-packed entertainment. However, the box office numbers tell a different story.
Baaghi 4 sees sharp 33% drop, collects only ₹9 crore
On its opening day, Baaghi 4 managed to earn around ₹12 crore. But on the second day, the film saw a major dip of about 33%. Early estimates suggest the movie collected only ₹9 crore on Saturday. This brings the total two-day collection to ₹21 crore. The fall is worrying for the makers because weekends are usually expected to show growth in collections. If the film does not pick up on Sunday and in the coming weekdays, it may struggle to recover its budget.
Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta also reacted to this disappointing response. He pointed out that franchise films without their original directors are not working well. He questioned whether producers should learn a lesson from this trend. Gupta also compared the situation with Hollywood films. He noted that the horror movie The Conjuring: Last Rites is doing better business in India than Baaghi 4. According to him, this shows how audience preferences are changing.
The Baaghi series began in 2016 with Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. It was a huge success. The second part featured Disha Patani and was also popular. Baaghi 3, which came in 2020, faced problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic and theatre closures. Now, Baaghi 4, written by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by A. Harsha, seems to be struggling despite its big star cast.

The coming days will be crucial for the film. Strong word-of-mouth or positive audience reviews could help it perform better. Otherwise, the film may join the list of Bollywood franchise movies that failed to live up to expectations.
