Tiger Shroff’s upcoming action thriller Baaghi 4 has undergone several cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Even though the film was given an “A” certificate, the board asked the makers to delete or alter 23 scenes, including both visuals and dialogues.

The CBFC directed the team to cut a number of violent and sensitive scenes. For example, a shot where the hero stands on a coffin, a cigarette being lit from a holy lamp, and a disturbing sequence involving an amputated hand were deleted. A frontal nude scene was also covered, and a shot of a character touching a woman’s hip was replaced.

The censor board also objected to violent religious references. A knife being thrown at a statue of Jesus Christ, and a scene showing the statue leaning due to a punch, were removed. Other violent visuals such as throats being slit, hands chopped, and swords piercing skulls were trimmed. An 11-second sequence of extreme violence was also taken out.
The CBFC muted or replaced several words. Terms like “bhang b*****a,” “b****e,” and “fingering” were changed to softer alternatives. The word “condom” in one dialogue was muted, and some lines were modified to reduce harshness. For example, “Tera wajood hi mit jaayega God” was changed to “Sab dekhte reh jayenge.”

Initially, Baaghi 4 had a runtime of 2 hours 43 minutes and 50 seconds. After the suggested cuts and voluntary trims by the makers, the final runtime stands at 2 hours 37 minutes and 5 seconds, meaning over six minutes of footage was removed.
Directed by A. Harsha, Baaghi 4 stars Tiger Shroff in the lead role and Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist. The movie also features Harnaaz Sindhu, Shreyas Talpade, Sonam Bajwa, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Upendra Limaye. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film marks the fourth part of the popular Baaghi franchise, which began in 2016.
Despite the heavy edits, Baaghi 4 promises high-octane action and drama. With Tiger Shroff’s action sequences and Sanjay Dutt’s powerful negative role, the movie is expected to draw fans to theatres when it releases this Friday.
