Television actor Ashish Kapoor, known for his roles in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Saraswatichandra, and other popular shows, has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape case. The arrest took place in Pune after the police tracked his movements across several locations.

According to police reports, a woman filed a complaint claiming that Ashish Kapoor sexually assaulted her inside a bathroom during a house party in Delhi in the second week of August 2025. She approached the police on August 11, and an FIR was registered at the Civil Lines police station in Delhi.

Initially, the complainant alleged that Ashish, along with some unidentified men, had raped her. However, she later changed her statement and accused only Ashish Kapoor of the crime.
The police immediately began searching for Ashish Kapoor after the complaint was filed. A senior police officer told Hindustan Times that he was first traced to Goa, but he escaped before the police could reach him. Later, he was found living with a friend in Pune, where he was finally arrested on Tuesday.

Officials said that the investigation is still in progress. Legal experts are being consulted, and the police are examining the case from all possible angles. The complainant is a professional woman based in Gurugram.
Ashish Kapoor has acted in many popular Indian television dramas over the years. Apart from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Saraswatichandra, he has also appeared in shows like Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage, Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Dekha Ek Khwaab, Molkki Rishton Ki Agnipariksha, Woh Apna Sa, and Bandini.
