Bollywood filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar has given a new update about his much-awaited movie Jee Le Zaraa. Fans were worried that the film had been cancelled since no progress was seen in the past few years. However, Farhan has now made it clear that the movie is not shelved, though it has been kept on hold for the time being.
Farhan Akhtar Confirms Jee Le Zaraa Still Alive
In a recent interview, Farhan explained that Jee Le Zaraa is still alive as a project. He shared that a lot of work has already been done, including music recordings and location scouting. According to him, the script is very special, and he is confident that the film will definitely happen in the future. But he admitted that he cannot give a timeline right now.

The movie was originally announced in 2021 with a star cast that created huge excitement among fans. The film was supposed to feature Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif together for the first time in a road trip story. A group picture of the three actors with Farhan went viral at the time of the announcement, raising expectations.
Now, Farhan Akhtar has hinted that the final cast might not remain the same. He said that he cannot comment further on who will finally play the lead roles when the project resumes. This has left fans a little disappointed, as many were eager to watch Priyanka, Alia, and Katrina share the screen.

Jee Le Zaraa was planned as a female-led road trip drama, something rarely explored in Hindi cinema. The idea was appreciated widely because it promised a refreshing take on friendship and travel, much like Farhan’s earlier cult film Dil Chahta Hai.
Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is focusing on his upcoming movie 120 Bahadur, a war drama based on Major Shaitan Singh Bhati and the 1962 Battle of Rezang La. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 21, 2025.
