Several users even suggested that Sanya Malhotra, who appears only briefly in the teaser, should have been the main heroine instead of Janhvi Kapoor.
On Reddit and X (formerly Twitter), fans wrote comments like, “Sanya and Rohit look more like main leads, while Varun and Janhvi seem side characters,” and “Sanya has more screen presence and better box-office record than Janhvi.” Some even felt that Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra brought more charm in their short appearances compared to the film’s lead pair.

However, many viewers felt that the jokes fell flat, and the overall presentation reminded them of earlier Dharma films without adding anything new.
Some users also criticized the casting choices, saying that Janhvi Kapoor was given the lead role because of favoritism in the industry. One comment read, “She should’ve been the lead, but Papa Jo had other plans.” Others pointed out that Varun Dhawan should avoid films connected to his father or Karan Johar, as they don’t work well for his career anymore.
