Crew Member of Ayushmann-Sara Ali Khan Film Assaulted in Prayagraj, Accused Arrested

A shocking incident took place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, during the shooting of the upcoming Bollywood film Pati, Patni Aur Woh 2, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. A crew member of the film was allegedly assaulted by a local resident while the team was filming on Thornhill Road on 27 August.

The crew member attacked has been identified as Zoheb Solapurwala, the production head of BR Chopra Films. According to reports, the incident happened suddenly while the shoot was in progress. Following the assault, a complaint was filed the next day by the film’s line producer, Saurabh Tiwari, at the Civil Lines Police Station.

Prayagraj’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (City), Abhijeet Kumar, confirmed that the police acted quickly and arrested the main accused, identified as Meraj Ali. Authorities have started an investigation to understand the exact reason behind the assault, though the motive has not yet been revealed.

The film unit was reportedly disturbed by the incident, as shootings in public areas often attract large crowds. Such situations sometimes create difficulties for film crews, and in this case, it escalated into violence. The police have assured that proper security measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

The film Pati, Patni Aur Woh 2 is the sequel to the 2019 hit romantic comedy of the same name. With big stars like Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles, expectations from the movie are high.
