Bollywood stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor are preparing for the release of their new movie Param Sundari, which hits theatres on August 29, 2025. The film has already caught attention on social media, but the big question remains, can it finally bring much-needed box office success to both actors?
Param Sundari May End Drought For Janhvi, Sidharth
Although Sidharth has delivered strong performances, many of his recent films have not performed well commercially. His film Yodha made about ₹53.5 crore worldwide, but the budget was around ₹55 crore. Thank God also underperformed, earning around ₹49 crore against a cost of nearly ₹70 crore. Movies like Aiyaary and Ittefaq too failed to reach expected numbers. Only Marjaavan managed a modest profit, collecting ₹62 crore globally.

Janhvi’s film career has also had ups and downs. Her film Ulajh collected only around ₹11 crore worldwide, far less than its ₹35 crore budget. Mili was also disappointed, earning less than ₹4 crore. Mr and Mrs Mahi did slightly better with ₹51 crore, but just missed being declared a clean hit. On the brighter side, her big project Devara turned out to be a blockbuster, grossing over ₹421 crore worldwide, proving her ability to shine in large-scale films.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala, speaking to NDTV, shared that while Param Sundari has created some buzz, the real test will be after its release. He said that advance bookings alone cannot guarantee success. The film’s box office journey will depend on the first-day reviews, word of mouth, and how audiences connect with the story. If viewers enjoy it and spread positive feedback, the movie might break the dry spell for both actors.
With both Sidharth and Janhvi looking for a big hit, the release of Param Sundari is crucial. Fans, critics, and the film industry will be watching closely to see if this movie can finally bring them the box office breakthrough they need.
