The cameras have finally started rolling for filmmaker Priyadarshan’s new Hindi thriller Haiwaan. The movie stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan together on the big screen after more than a decade, creating huge excitement among fans. The film’s first shooting schedule began this weekend in Kochi, Kerala.

Priyadarshan, who has worked on many hit films with Akshay in the past, described the project as very special. He revealed that Haiwaan is inspired by his Malayalam film Oppam, but with major changes in the story for Hindi audiences. The biggest surprise for fans is that superstar Mohanlal, who played the lead role in the original, will also make a special cameo in the Hindi version. “His character will definitely shock the audience,” Priyadarshan teased.

The film also marks the return of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan as co-stars. The duo earlier worked together in movies like Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994) and Tashan (2008). This time, they will be seen in a suspense-filled thriller, with Akshay reportedly taking on the role of the villain.

Akshay Kumar even shared a behind-the-scenes video from the first day of shooting. In the clip, he joked about the title of the film, saying, “First I did Insaan, then Jaanwar, and now Haiwaan. The trilogy is complete.”
Along with Akshay and Saif, the movie also features Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher in important roles. After finishing the Kochi schedule, the team will continue filming in Vagamon, Ooty, and later Mumbai.
Produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, Haiwaan promises to be a high-octane thriller packed with suspense, action, and star power.
