Recently, social media and news reports suggested that veteran Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja were heading for a divorce after 34 years of marriage. These rumours quickly spread, creating curiosity among fans and the media. However, Govinda’s team has now strongly denied all such claims and confirmed that there is no divorce happening.
Govinda’s Team Denies Divorce Rumours With Sunita
Govinda’s manager, Shashi, explained that every couple goes through small disagreements, but that does not mean their marriage is ending. He said, “Har couple mein thode bahaut mann mutav hote hi rehte hain. Yeh sab purani batein hain, jinhe ab media apne fayde ke liye badha chadha kar pesh kar rahi hai.” According to him, old issues are being exaggerated and turned into unnecessary gossip.

There were also reports that Sunita had filed a divorce petition in December 2024 under Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act, citing reasons like cruelty, desertion, and adultery. Reacting to this, Shashi defended Govinda and said that he is not the kind of man who would ever raise his hand or behave cruelly with anyone. He stressed that such allegations do not match Govinda’s real nature.

Shashi also added that while Govinda did not appear in court, even Sunita has not been present except for once, when she went to file the case. He said that problems exist in every marriage, but Sunita still loves Govinda deeply, and the two continue to stay together. They are currently more focused on their children, Tina Ahuja and Yashvardan Ahuja, and their careers.
He further stated that making small issues look bigger by attaching serious legal sections is damaging to their personal life. He asked the media to stop spreading negativity for the sake of views, as it can harm long-standing relationships.
Ending on a positive note, Shashi said, “During Ganesh Chaturthi, you will see Govinda and Sunita together. They are still united as a family.” With this clarification, fans of the actor can relax knowing that Govinda and Sunita’s marriage is safe and they are still together after more than three decades.
