Rajinikanth’s latest film Coolie has become a massive box office success, earning more than ₹300 crore in just three days. The film has impressed audiences across the country, and its star cast is receiving huge attention. Among them is Kannada superstar Upendra Rao, who plays the character Kaliesha.

While Upendra is in the limelight now, his wife Priyanka Upendra is also remembered by many, especially Tamil cinema fans. Born as Priyanka Trivedi in Kolkata, she began her career with Bengali films in the late 1990s. Soon, she acted in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil films, becoming a familiar face in different film industries.
Priyanka made her Tamil debut in 2002 with Rajjiyam, opposite Vijayakanth. The same year, she starred in Raja alongside Ajith Kumar. Her role as Priya in the film is still remembered by fans, especially for a popular scene where Ajith calls her “Thayir Sadham.” Later, she appeared with Vikram in Ice (2003) and in Jananam (2004).

Priyanka met Upendra during the shooting of the Telugu film Raa (2001), and the two eventually got married. After marriage, she shifted her focus mainly to Kannada and Bengali cinema. Her last known on-screen role was a special appearance in the 2004 film Gauri.
In recent years, Priyanka has made only limited public appearances. Some fans were surprised to see her latest pictures, noting that she looks quite different compared to her earlier film days. However, audiences still fondly remember her performances from the early 2000s, especially her work with big Tamil stars like Ajith and Vikram.
Today, while Upendra continues to shine in films like Coolie, Priyanka remains a cherished figure in the memories of fans who enjoyed her performances two decades ago.
