A bench of Justices J. B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan said that the available evidence shows the crime was planned in advance. They also noted that Darshan is accused of destroying evidence and misusing his influence. His past behavior, the serious charges against him, and his alleged misconduct in jail were also taken into account.
The court strongly criticized the High Court’s decision, calling it “perverse” and a result of “non-application of mind.” The judges ordered that Darshan be arrested immediately. They stressed that in serious criminal cases, courts must be careful and should not grant bail without proper consideration.

The Renukaswamy murder case has attracted a lot of public attention because of Darshan’s celebrity status. The court’s order makes it clear that the law is the same for everyone, no matter how famous or powerful they are.
Legal experts say this decision sends a strong message that the justice system will not allow influence or money to affect the outcome of serious cases. The Supreme Court’s ruling also highlights the need for lower courts to carefully examine all facts and evidence before granting bail in such cases.
For now, Darshan will remain in custody while the investigation continues. The trial will decide whether he is guilty or innocent, but the Supreme Court’s latest decision ensures he will not be out on bail during this process.
