Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will be seen in a special role in the upcoming Tamil action thriller Coolie, starring Rajinikanth in the lead. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has already created huge excitement among fans, especially after the trailer showed Aamir in an intense look as the character “Dahaa.”

There were earlier reports claiming that Aamir had charged ₹20 crore for this cameo. However, according to a report, the truth is very different. Sources close to the actor revealed that Aamir Khan did not take any payment for his role. They said Aamir agreed instantly when the team approached him, as he has great respect and affection for Rajinikanth and the makers of the film. The source added, “He didn’t even listen to the full script before saying yes. This cameo is his way of showing love for the team.”

Aamir himself shared the story during the film’s audio and trailer launch in Hyderabad. He said that when director Lokesh Kanagaraj came to meet him, he didn’t know the reason. Once he learned it was for Coolie and that Rajinikanth was the star, he immediately accepted. Aamir admitted that this was probably the first time in his career that he agreed to a film without hearing the full story.

Coolie features a powerful cast, including Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy, Kaali Venkat, and Charle. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film is Rajinikanth’s 171st as a lead actor. It is scheduled to release on August 14, 2025, and will have a major box office clash with War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, directed by Ayan Mukerji.
