Producer Sandra Thomas has spoken out to clear misunderstandings about actor Mammootty’s role in a recent Producers Association controversy. There were claims that Mammootty got involved in a nomination paper dispute, but Sandra said this was not true.
Sandra Thomas Clarifies Mammootty’s Role, Responds
According to her, Mammootty never tried to influence anything related to the nominations. Instead, his phone call was about a completely different matter, a personal complaint she had made. Sandra explained that her complaint was about behaviour that insulted her womanhood. This complaint was shared with Mammootty through someone on behalf of producer Anto Joseph.

Sandra Thomas said that after understanding the situation, Mammootty simply told her, “Do everything as you wish,” and ended the call. She added that it was Mammootty’s own decision not to be part of her film project, and she respected that choice.

Sandra Thomas also responded to comments made by producer Listin Stephen. He had questioned why she did not wear a veil during her second protest, as she had done earlier. Sandra said that wearing the veil was a form of protest at that time, but that did not mean she should always wear it. She accused Listin of trying to bring Mammootty into the matter unnecessarily.
Challenging Listin, Sandra said that if he could prove her statements against him were false, she would leave the film industry. However, if her statements were proven true, she asked whether Listin would be ready to leave the industry.
Sandra stressed that she never intended to insult Mammootty. In her words, “When he did something good, I acknowledged it. Speaking the truth is not an insult.” She made it clear that no one forced Mammootty into the matter he stepped in on his own, but only regarding her personal complaint.
On the work front, Mammootty’s latest film was Bazooka. This statement from Sandra Thomas aims to end the confusion and separate the Producers Association nomination issue from her personal complaint, making it clear that Mammootty’s call was unrelated to the nomination dispute.
