Assamese actor Nandini Kashyap has been arrested after her involvement in a hit-and-run accident that led to the death of a 21-year-old student in Guwahati. The tragic incident happened around 3 am on July 25, 2025, in the Dakhingaon area. The victim, Samiul Haque, was a student of Nalbari Polytechnic. He was returning home when a Scorpio SUV, allegedly driven by the actor, hit him.

According to CCTV footage, the SUV did not stop after hitting the student. Eyewitnesses claim that the actor did not check on the injured person and quickly fled the scene. Samiul’s friends managed to track down the vehicle to an apartment complex in Kahilipara, where they confronted the actor. The student was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but unfortunately died later due to his injuries.

The victim’s family revealed that Samiul suffered serious head injuries and multiple fractures in his arms, legs, and thighs. They also claimed that Nandini Kashyap had promised to pay for his treatment but never returned to help. His family is now demanding justice for their son.

Police arrested Nandini Kashyap early on Wednesday morning and took her to Panbazar Women Police Station. Her vehicle was seized before the arrest. She had earlier denied any role in the accident when questioned. However, after collecting enough evidence, the police charged her under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The case has created a huge buzz across Assam and on social media. Many people are demanding strict action against the actor. Hit-and-run cases are a serious concern in India, and this incident has again raised questions about road safety and responsibility.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, and more details may be revealed soon. For now, the focus remains on getting justice for Samiul Haque and holding those responsible accountable under the law.
