Rebecca Romijn Unsure If Avengers: Doomsday Filming Is Complete As Script Remains Unfinished

Rebecca Romijn, known for playing Mystique in the X-Men films, recently gave an update about her role in Marvel’s upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday. Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, she shared that she’s not sure if she has finished filming for the movie because the script is still being written.

Rebecca Romijn said, “I’m not quite sure if I’m done. The script is not finished yet.” She added that Marvel is keeping everything secret to avoid leaks. Because of this, she doesn’t even know if she’s seen the full script.

When asked about who she filmed scenes with, Romijn stayed silent, saying she “can’t say.” But she did reveal that filming with her old X-Men co-stars and the new cast felt surreal. She explained that being around familiar faces brought back old memories, and she even had strange dreams while shooting.

Rebecca Romijn first played Mystique in the 2000 movie X-Men. She last appeared in the role in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, with a brief cameo in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. She said coming back to the role after so many years was a special experience. In the early days, she felt like she didn’t fully deserve the role and thought she was chosen only because she was a model. But this time, she returned with confidence and fully owned the character.

Marvel confirmed earlier this year that many X-Men actors will return in Avengers: Doomsday, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Kelsey Grammer as Beast.

Fans are excited to see old and new characters coming together in one film. While details about the story are still under wraps, Romijn’s return as Mystique has created a lot of buzz. Marvel is clearly planning something big with Avengers: Doomsday, and fans will have to wait and watch how it all comes together.
