Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been arrested for cheating the actress out of nearly ₹77 lakh. She was caught by the Mumbai Police after being on the run for several months. The 32-year-old woman was arrested from Bengaluru and brought to Mumbai. She is now in police custody until July 10.

Vedika worked with Alia Bhatt from 2021 and handled both her personal and business tasks. She was also involved in managing Alia’s production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions. According to the police, Vedika created fake bills and forged Alia’s signature to steal money. She would send the money first to a friend’s bank account and then transfer it to her own.

This fraud took place over two years and was only discovered recently. Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, filed a complaint in January 2025. After a long search, the police finally found Vedika. She had been changing her location several times to avoid getting caught.
The police are also questioning her friend, who helped transfer the money. However, reports say that the friend did not keep any of the money. The investigation is still going on, and the police are trying to recover the full amount that was stolen.
