Fatima Sana Shaikh became very famous for her role as wrestler Geeta Phogat in the movie Dangal. But before she accepted the role, she was not sure if she wanted to do the film. Fatima shared that she didn’t think she could look like Geeta Phogat because Geeta was very thin and weighed only 49 kilograms. Fatima thought she didn’t match that look.
Fatima Sana Shaikh Initially Refused Role in Dangal
When the filmmakers first offered her the role, she said no. But they told her not to worry about the look and asked her to just come for the audition. Fatima agreed and gave the audition. Later, she got the role and became very popular because of her performance in the film.
Fatima also talked about her love for giving auditions. She said she used to attend many auditions before she got Dangal. She accepted all kinds of roles, even if the films were not very good. At that time, she wanted to work and get experience. Fatima believes her hard work and many auditions helped her get the big break.

She said that when she did not have work, she took every opportunity that came her way. She feels lucky that she got the chance to act in Dangal, which became a very successful movie.
Fatima is also preparing for her new movie called Metro… In Dino, which will be released soon. She said she enjoys preparing for auditions by doing research and learning about the role she wants to play. Fatima hopes to get more interesting roles in the future.
