India is making headlines again with its most expensive movie ever ‘Ramayana’, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The movie is being made with a massive budget of ₹835 crore, which is nearly equal to a big Hollywood production. This film is more expensive than movies like Kalki 2898 AD, Brahmastra, and Adipurush.

‘Ramayana’ will be released in two parts. It features some of the biggest stars of Indian cinema. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash plays Ravana, and Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman. Sunny Deol will appear as Hanuman, while Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, and many others are also part of the cast.

The film is being produced by Namit Malhotra, who owns Prime Focus, a major global media company. He is also the CEO of DNEG, the Oscar-winning VFX studio that has worked on many Hollywood hits like Dune and Interstellar. DNEG handles all the VFX work for Ramayana, ensuring high-quality visual effects.
What makes this project even more special is its music collaboration. Two legends of music A.R. Rahman from India and Hans Zimmer from Hollywood are working together for the first time. Hans Zimmer has won two Oscar Awards and is known for composing music in films like The Lion King and Dune.

The first look of Ramayana was recently revealed and received a lot of attention online. The movie is currently in production and is expected to release around Diwali 2026, followed by the second part later.
