Tamil actor Srikanth was recently arrested by the Chennai Police in connection with a drug abuse investigation. The arrest happened after the police interrogated him about his links with Prasad, a former AIADMK member, who was earlier arrested following a fight in a pub in Chennai. During the investigation, police found clues that led them to Srikanth, who was then taken in for questioning at the Nungambakkam police station.

Reports say that Prasad had supplied drugs, including cocaine, and he claimed that Srikanth had bought 1 gram of cocaine for ₹12,000. Prasad also mentioned that Srikanth had used drugs at private parties in the city. The police have taken Srikanth’s blood samples for testing. Though he has not been officially charged yet, the police say that further action will be based on solid evidence. Along with Srikanth, actor Krishna’s name also came up in the investigation and he is being looked into as well.

Srikanth was born in Chennai to a Tamil mother and a Telugu father. He was raised in Hyderabad and is known as Sriram in Telugu films to avoid confusion with another actor of the same name. His acting career began in 1999 with a Tamil television series, and he made his big screen debut in 2002 with the film Roja Kootam. He has acted in both Tamil and Telugu films over the years.
Some of Srikanth’s popular films include Manasellam, Varnajalam, Kana Kandein, Nanban, and Oru Naal Kanavu. He recently appeared in the web series Harikatha and the Telugu film Erracheera. Despite his success in films, the recent arrest has shocked his fans and the film industry.
