Vivek Agnihotri Reveals John-Bipasha Breakup Affected Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal Film Shoot

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has opened up about the difficult time he had while making the 2007 film Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. In a recent interview, he revealed that the movie faced many problems during its shooting, especially because of personal and professional conflicts. He talked about how John Abraham and Bipasha Basu’s breakup during the shoot added to the problems and made the working environment more stressful.

Vivek explained that there were also creative disagreements between him and the producers of the film. He said that even though he was the director, many people preferred to speak to Anurag Kashyap, who was not officially a part of the project. According to Vivek, Anurag had some influence over the casting, especially John Abraham. He also said that the producers did not fully trust him as the writer and brought in others, which led to confusion and delays in the script development.

One of the biggest challenges, according to Vivek, was shooting the football scenes. He mentioned that while actors like Arshad Warsi worked hard and trained seriously to look convincing on screen, John Abraham did not show the same level of commitment. Because of this, the football scenes had to be filmed by separating his face and feet shots to make the performance look realistic.

Vivek also shared his frustration about the Bollywood system, where big stars are given too much power, even if they do not perform well. He criticized the practice of paying crores to actors who do not deliver strong performances or even speak their lines properly. Despite all these problems, Vivek said he still respects Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane as talented writers.
