Television actress Lataa Saberwal has officially announced her separation from husband Sanjeev Seth. The two actors, known for playing Akshara’s parents in the popular television serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, were married for 16 years. On June 21, 2025, Lataa shared the news with her fans through an Instagram story.

In her message, Lataa expressed gratitude towards Sanjeev for being a part of her life and for giving her a wonderful son. She also wished him the best for his future. She requested everyone to respect her privacy and not ask questions or make calls regarding her personal life. Her note reflected a calm and respectful approach to a very personal matter.

Lataa and Sanjeev became household names because of their roles as Rajshri and Vishambharnath Maheshwari, Akshara’s parents, in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Their on-screen chemistry was appreciated by viewers, and their real-life relationship also attracted media attention when they got married in 2009 after meeting on the sets of the show.
This was Sanjeev Seth’s second marriage. He was earlier married to actress Resham Tipnis, and they have two children together. Lataa and Sanjeev later welcomed a son after their marriage.
Over the years, both actors have worked in television and films. Lataa has been seen in shows like Ishq Mein Marjawan, Naaginn, and films such as Vivah, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, and Ishq Vishk. Sanjeev has acted in TV shows like Aashirwad and Karishma Kaa Karishma, and is set to appear in De De Pyaar De 2.
