According to Malabika Dey, wife of producer Shyam Sunder Dey, the couple and their associate Piyush Kothari forced her husband to go with them. She shared the details on Facebook and attached payment receipts, WhatsApp messages, and FIR documents. She said her husband was kidnapped, threatened, and mentally tortured. He was even asked to pay Rs 64 lakh or face false drug charges. Under pressure, he paid Rs 23 lakh to save himself. Malabika also said that Puja and Kunal took Shyam’s phones and made him record videos where he had to say what they instructed.

The Goa Police have filed an FIR under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. These include charges like abduction, illegal confinement, criminal threats, and extortion. Malabika added that Shyam is now safe with the help of the Goa Police.
Just a week ago, Puja Banerjee had posted a video where she said they lost all their money in a scam. She did not mention how much was lost, but said they were going through a very tough time and had to start life from zero again. She asked their followers for prayers and support.
