Actor Mukul Dev passed away on May 23, 2025, in New Delhi at the age of 54. At the time of his death, the cause was not made public, which led to various speculations. Some reports suggested he was suffering from depression. However, his brother, actor Rahul Dev, has now revealed the true reason behind Mukul’s death in an emotional interview.
Rahul Dev Reveals Mukul Dev’s Death Reason
Rahul said that Mukul had become withdrawn and was living alone in Delhi since 2019. He had moved there to take care of their elderly parents. Over time, Mukul stopped looking after himself. He was not eating regularly and had lost all interest in life. Rahul mentioned that in the last few days before he was admitted to the ICU, Mukul had completely stopped eating. He was in the ICU for over eight days before he passed away.

Rahul added that many people talking about his brother’s condition now were not even in touch with him during his final years. He shared that some people were saying Mukul was unfit, but he used to run half-marathons and stayed active until he began to lose the will to live. Rahul feels that not many people truly knew what Mukul was going through, and very few visited him during his hospital stay or came to his prayer meet.
Despite the sadness, Rahul wants to remember Mukul not for how he died, but for who he truly was — a charming, intelligent, and sensitive person. He said Mukul should not be remembered as someone who faded away, but as someone full of life and talent.
