Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan recently shared some disappointing news for fans of his film Marco. The actor made it clear that there will be no sequel to the action-packed movie. Even though Marco was a big hit at the box office, it faced a lot of criticism, especially for its violent scenes. Because of the negativity around the film, Unni has decided not to continue with the story.
Unni Mukundan Confirms No Plans For Marco 2
On Instagram, Unni posted a video of his weight loss transformation. A fan commented asking if Marco 2 was in the works. In response, Unni said that he had dropped the idea of making a sequel. He added that there was too much negativity and criticism surrounding the film. However, he also gave a ray of hope by promising to bring something “bigger and better” in the future. He thanked fans for their love and support.

Later, Unni shared a series of photos from the film Marco and wrote a goodbye message for the character. A fan again asked about part two, and Unni replied with a firm “Absolutely no chance.” While some fans were sad, others supported his decision and said they were excited for his upcoming projects.
Marco was directed by Haneef Adeni and produced by Shareef Muhammed. It starred Unni Mukundan in the lead role, along with a strong supporting cast. Despite the backlash, the film made over ₹100 crore worldwide. The producer defended the film, saying that it is people’s mindset that needs to change, not cinema. He also said he will not produce any more films that appear to promote violence.
