Who Bought Vijay Mallya’s Kingfisher Villa?
The Kingfisher Villa was owned by United Breweries Holdings, which was also the parent company of the now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines. After Mallya fled India in 2016 due to financial fraud and loan default cases, the banks took legal control of the property. In 2017, the villa was put up for auction by a group of banks led by the State Bank of India.

Surprisingly, the buyers of this luxurious property were not just any businessmen but a Bollywood couple. Actor-producer Sachiin Joshi and his wife Urvashi Sharma, known for her role in the film Naqaab, purchased the villa for Rs 73.01 crore. This made headlines as the grand villa found new owners from the film industry. Joshi, who has acted in films like Mumbai Mirror and Jackpot, also owns Viiking Ventures, a company involved in various sectors including alcohol, entertainment, real estate, and more.
After buying the property, Sachiin Joshi renamed it “King’s Mansion,” linking it to his popular liquor brand “Kings Beer,” which he had purchased earlier for Rs 90 crore. He announced plans to turn the villa into a space that offers a one-of-a-kind luxury experience. According to Joshi, the name and design of the mansion reflect a royal lifestyle, and he wants the place to become a unique attraction in India.
