Akshay Kumar’s film Housefull 5 is doing really well in theatres. It was released on June 6, 2025, and in just four days, it has collected over ₹100 crore at the Indian box office. This is a great achievement for the film and shows that audiences are enjoying this comedy thriller.
Housefull 5 hits 100 crore, Thug Life falters
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film features a big star cast including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nana Patekar, Nargis Fakhri, and Jackie Shroff. The movie earned ₹24 crore on the first day, ₹31 crore on the second day, ₹32.5 crore on the third day, and ₹13.5 crore on Monday, bringing the total to ₹101 crore.

On the other hand, Kamal Haasan’s film Thug Life, which released a day earlier on June 5, 2025, did not perform well on Monday. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam and stars Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Silambarasan TR. While the film started strong with ₹15.5 crore on the first day, its collections kept falling over the weekend. It earned ₹7.15 crore on Friday, ₹7.75 crore on Saturday, and ₹6.5 crore on Sunday. On Monday, it collected only ₹3.25 crore, taking its total to ₹40.15 crore so far.
Both films are big projects, but clearly Housefull 5 is leading at the box office. Other movies like Rajkummar Rao’s Bhool Chuk Maaf and Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible 8 are also doing well. Bhool Chuk Maaf has collected ₹69.60 crore, while Mission Impossible 8 has earned ₹94.90 crore in 21 days.

It will be interesting to see how these films perform in the coming days. While Housefull 5 is enjoying a good run, Thug Life needs strong word-of-mouth to improve its collections. As of now, the audience seems to prefer the laughter and entertainment that Housefull 5 is offering.
