Exciting news for Harry Potter fans! The much-awaited Harry Potter TV series is all set to begin a new magical journey, and the names of the actors playing some of the most iconic characters have finally been revealed. The series, being produced by HBO and Max, promises to be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s famous books are expected to be released in 2026.
New Harry Potter TV Series Cast Revealed
The lead roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley will be played by Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout. These three fresh faces will bring a new energy to the story of the magical trio. Joining them are some famous and experienced actors playing important adult roles. John Lithgow will play Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer will be seen as Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu will step into the role of Severus Snape, and Nick Frost will become the lovable Hagrid.

Fans are also excited to see Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy and Johnny Flynn as his father, Lucius Malfoy. Other new cast members include Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown. Bel Powley will play Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby will portray Vernon Dursley, and Bertie Carvel will take on the role of Cornelius Fudge.
The series aims to explore the magical world in greater detail and stay closer to the books than the original films. It will run for several years, covering each of the seven books in-depth. Although none of the original movie cast will be part of the TV series, actor Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the films, is returning to the stage for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on Broadway starting in November 2025.
