Ed Sheeran, the world-famous English singer, has opened up about his love for Indian music and especially about how he discovered the voice of Arijit Singh. Ed said that it all started when he watched the Bollywood film Aashiqui 2 and heard the song Tum Hi Ho. He described the experience as magical and said he was completely “spellbound” by Arijit’s voice and the emotional depth of the song.

Recently, Ed and Arijit released their new song Sapphire, which has become a hit just days after its release. Ed revealed that he and Arijit decided to finish the song together in person. Arijit invited Ed to visit his hometown in West Bengal, and Ed agreed. He travelled with his father to India, and the trip became very special for both of them.

In West Bengal, Arijit showed Ed his home, took him on a ride to the studio on a scooty, and introduced him to Indian music instruments like the sitar. They also shared a traditional dinner and watched the sunset and moonrise together. Ed described the whole journey as a “core memory” that he will always cherish with his father.
He was also touched by Arijit’s humility and talent. Ed even learned some Punjabi words from Arijit and praised him as “one of the most talented humans” he has ever met. He also confirmed that a full Punjabi version of Sapphire will be released soon.

Fans were thrilled to see Shah Rukh Khan in the music video, and Ed Sheeran called him a lovely person. He mentioned that Arijit’s voice was the “final jigsaw piece” that completed their song.
