On June 11, 2025, BTS members Jimin and Jungkook were officially discharged from their mandatory military service in South Korea. After completing 18 months of service, they made a public appearance at a sports facility near their former military unit in Yeoncheon, north of Seoul. Dressed in full uniform, they greeted fans and media with salutes and smiles, receiving warm applause and excitement from the crowd.

This moment was emotional for the BTS fandom, known as ARMY, as fans had waited patiently for their return. Videos and pictures of their appearance quickly spread on social media, capturing the hearts of millions. Fans shared how much they missed them and welcomed them back with love and joy.

Jimin, during a short speech, thanked fans for waiting so long and mentioned that military life was not easy. He also asked people to respect and support soldiers. Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS, appeared shy and humble, admitting he wasn’t used to being in front of the camera again and hadn’t even worn makeup for the event.
Later, the two held a live video session on the fan platform Weverse, where they shared stories from their time in the military. They joked about sleeping habits and how they supported each other during tough times. Fans were delighted to see their strong friendship and cheerful mood.

Jimin and Jungkook had joined the military together in December 2023. Their discharge followed the return of BTS members RM and V, who were released just a day earlier. The other members, Jin and J-Hope, had already completed their service, while Suga is expected to finish by June 21, 2025.
The return of all BTS members is bringing hope to fans that the group may reunite soon. Known for hit songs like “Butter,” “Dynamite,” and “Boy With Luv,” BTS remains one of the biggest music acts in the world. Their military service may have paused group activities, but their bond with fans continues to stay strong.
