A major update has come in the legal battle between Hollywood stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. A New York judge has officially dismissed the $400 million defamation countersuit filed by Justin Baldoni against Blake Lively and others. The case was related to the 2024 film It Ends With Us, which turned into a controversy after serious accusations were made.
Justin Baldoni’s $400 Million Lawsuit Dismissed
Blake Lively had filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, accusing him of sexual harassment. She also claimed that Baldoni tried to harm her image through a planned smear campaign. In response, Baldoni filed a huge $400 million countersuit against Blake, her husband Ryan Reynolds, her publicist Leslie Sloane, and her PR agency. He accused them of defamation, civil extortion, and more.

However, on Monday, Judge Lewis Liman dismissed Baldoni’s countersuit. The judge said that Baldoni’s legal team failed to prove that Blake’s actions could be called wrongful extortion. The judge also found no evidence that Blake was directly responsible for defaming statements in media reports, including one from The New York Times. The court said that the Times had no clear reason to favor Blake’s version and did its reporting based on the facts it received.
After the dismissal, Blake released a strong statement. She called it a complete victory and said she was relieved that justice had been served. She also spoke about the pain that comes from being targeted by a false lawsuit and said that not everyone has the resources to fight back like she did. She promised to continue standing up for women and their right to speak up for themselves.

Meanwhile, Justin Baldoni has not yet commented on the court’s decision. The case has caught the attention of fans across the world, especially because it involves two well-known names in Hollywood.
