The controversy started when filmmaker Abhinav Singh posted on Instagram about his own bad experience with Pratik Shah. He called Shah “manipulative” and “emotionally abusive.” After Abhinav shared his story, many other women came forward with similar complaints. Some called him a predator because of his behavior.
Following the accusations, Pratik Shah deactivated his Instagram account. Now, when people try to visit his profile, they see a message saying the page is not available. So far, Pratik Shah has not made any public statements about the claims. However, many people on social media are asking him to take responsibility if the accusations are true.

Filmmaker and writer Srishti Riya Jain shared posts that said Pratik Shah has been making inappropriate moves towards women for years. She also pointed out old complaints made against him, including on Reddit. Many are surprised because Shah worked on films praised for empathy and kindness, which now feels contradictory.
Pratik Shah faced similar accusations four years ago. Back then, a young cinematographer reported him to the Indian Women Cinematographers’ Collective. She said he asked her for a nude photo. Pratik Shah apologized and called it a “one-time mistake.” He received only a warning, but the problem seems to have continued.
