Veteran actor Rajesh passed away in Chennai at the age of 75. He was well-known for his work in Tamil and Malayalam films and television serials. Rajesh started his acting career in 1974 and acted in hundreds of movies and TV shows. He was famous for playing many different roles, including lead roles and supporting characters.
Veteran Actor Rajesh Passes Away at 75
Rajesh was born in Mannargudi, Tiruvarur district, to parents Williams Nattar and Lily Grace Mankondar. Before becoming a full-time actor, he worked as a high school teacher from 1972 to 1979. His first movie was Aval Oru Thodar Kathai, where he had a small role. Later, in 1979, he got his first lead role in the film Kanni Paruvathile. One of his notable films was Achamillai Achamillai (1984), directed by the famous filmmaker K. Balachander.

Over the years, Rajesh became a respected figure in the film industry for his versatile acting skills. Besides movies, he appeared in popular TV serials such as Micro Thodargal-Azhukku Vetti and Karthigai Deepam. One of his recent roles was in the Tamil version of the movie Merry Christmas, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif, where he played the character Yadhoom Uncle.
Rajesh was also a successful businessman. Apart from acting, he ventured into the hotel and real estate businesses and became a well-known builder in Chennai.
On May 29, 2025, Rajesh passed away suddenly due to low blood pressure while on the way to the hospital. He is survived by his children, daughter Divya and son Deepak, who is also an actor. His wife, Joan Sylvia Vanathirayar, had passed away earlier in 2012.

Many from the film industry expressed their condolences. Actress Radhika Sarathkumar remembered him fondly and shared how much she respected his knowledge of cinema and life. Producer G Dhananjayen also shared his sadness and offered his condolences to the family.
Rajesh will be remembered for his remarkable contributions to Tamil and Malayalam cinema as a talented actor and a respected personality. His work and dedication have left a lasting impact on the industry and fans alike.
