Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is teaming up again with famous filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani to make a biopic about Dadasaheb Phalke, who is known as the Father of Indian Cinema. This will be their third movie together after the popular films “3 Idiots” and “PK.” The shooting of this new film is planned to start in October 2025.

The film will tell the inspiring story of Dadasaheb Phalke, who is a very important figure in Indian film history. Phalke made India’s first silent film called “Raja Harishchandra” in 1913. He worked very hard to create the Indian film industry from nothing. The movie’s story is set during India’s struggle for independence and shows how Phalke’s passion helped build the foundation of Indian cinema despite many challenges.

The script for the movie has been carefully developed over the past four years. Rajkumar Hirani is working on it with his regular collaborator Abhijat Joshi and two writers named Hindukush Bharadwaj and Avishkar Bharadwaj. The team is making sure the story is accurate and full of interesting details.
Dadasaheb Phalke’s family is also supporting the project. His grandson Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar has shared many stories and facts from Phalke’s life to help make the film more authentic. Modern technology is also being used to bring the period to life, with a special visual effects studio in Los Angeles creating designs to match the era.
