The car was designed by Tommy Hilfiger, the same brand that created his unique outfit for the evening.

Idris stepped out of the car wearing a full racing suit and a sparkling helmet, looking just like a professional driver. But the most thrilling part came when two assistants helped him with a dramatic outfit change. They pulled apart the racing suit to reveal a stylish three-piece red suit underneath. One side of the jacket had a red and gold plaid design, adding an eye-catching twist.

This dramatic reveal caught everyone’s attention and was praised as one of the most exciting fashion moments of the night. The outfit matched perfectly with the Met Gala’s 2025 theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Idris also shared the moment with Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, who co-hosted the event and is also a producer of the upcoming film.
In the movie, Idris plays a new driver who is mentored by a retired racer played by Brad Pitt. The film’s director, Joseph Kosinski, shared that both actors drove real race cars on actual Formula One tracks during filming. The camera system used was specially designed to fit inside the fast cars without slowing them down, based on technology used in “Top Gun: Maverick.”
