In a surprising event, two well-known Malayalam film directors, Khalid Rahman and Ashraf Hamza, were arrested for possessing drugs. According to reports, the Excise Department arrested them during a late-night raid in Kochi. Another person, Shalif Mohammed, was also arrested with them. The raid happened at a flat near the Gosree Bridge around 2 a.m. on Sunday. The officers found 1.6 grams of hybrid ganja with them.

It was reported that the flat belonged to cinematographer Sameer Thahir. Shalif Mohammed is said to be a close friend of both directors. The Excise team carried out the raid based on secret information. After the arrest, Khalid, Ashraf, and Shalif were released on station bail.

Khalid Rahman is known for directing popular films like “Alappuzha Gymkhana” and “Thallumaala.” Ashraf Hamza has directed movies such as “Thamaasha” and “Bheemante Vazhi.” Their arrest has shocked many fans and people from the Malayalam film industry.

This incident comes just days after another actor, Shine Tom Chacko, was also linked to a drug case. Shine Tom Chacko was arrested earlier but later released on bail. He was asked to appear for questioning by the Excise Department. Another actor, Sreenath Bhasi, was also involved and had approached the Kerala High Court for anticipatory bail. However, he later withdrew his petition.
The Excise officials had earlier arrested two people, Thasleema Sulthana and K Feroze, for selling hybrid ganja. Thasleema’s husband was also arrested. The authorities believe that these people may have supplied drugs to celebrities in the Malayalam film industry.
This series of arrests has raised concerns about drug use in the entertainment world. Many people are now questioning if drug abuse is a serious issue among film celebrities. While some believe it is a major problem, others think the situation is being exaggerated.
