Rohit Shetty Denies Fallout with Shah Rukh Khan, Shares Insights on Their Future Projects

Rohit Shetty, the renowned Bollywood director, has finally addressed the rumors surrounding his relationship with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. These rumors began after the release of the film Dilwale in 2015, which failed to match the immense success of their previous collaboration, Chennai Express. Many speculated that a fallout had occurred between the two, especially since there was no immediate follow-up project from them. However, during a recent conversation with film critic Komal Nahta on the Game Changers podcast, Rohit Shetty cleared the air.

Rohit Shetty Clears Fallout Rumors with Shah Rukh

In his statement, Rohit denied any bad blood between himself and Shah Rukh. He clarified that there was no truth to the rumors of a fallout, explaining that both of them shared a deep mutual respect. He revealed that after Dilwale, they decided to take a different route and focus on their own projects. This led to both of them starting their own production houses, with the intention of creating films that they truly believed in, even if it meant bearing the risks themselves. Rohit mentioned that the decision was a mutual one, driven by the desire to have creative control over their work, and not due to any disagreements.

Despite Dilwale not doing as well in India as Chennai Express, Rohit highlighted that the film had been a huge success overseas. He explained that the movie was produced by Shah Rukh and his wife, Gauri Khan, under their banner, Red Chillies Entertainment. Rohit emphasized that the decision to move on and start their own ventures was a positive step, not a result of any animosity.

The director also shared his admiration for other colleagues in the industry, especially his close friendships with actors like Ajay Devgn, whom he considers an elder brother, and Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Rohit recalled how Deepika showed immense dedication while shooting for Singham Again when she was four months pregnant, highlighting the strong bonds he shares within the industry.

As for Shah Rukh Khan, the actor is gearing up for his upcoming film King, in which he will share screen space with his daughter, Suhana Khan, for the first time. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and will also feature Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma in important roles. Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is busy working on Singham Again, the next installment in his popular cop universe, which promises to bring together an exciting ensemble cast.
