Adam Zampa's IPL 2025 Season Ends Early, Sunrisers Hyderabad Sign Replacement

The ongoing IPL 2025 season has seen an unfortunate setback for Adam Zampa. The Australian cricketer, who had been representing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the tournament, has been ruled out due to an unspecified injury. As a result, SRH has announced a replacement for Zampa, signing Smaran Ravichandran, a left-handed batter from Karnataka.

Ravichandran, who has played several domestic matches, brings with him a wealth of experience. He has participated in seven first-class games, 10 List A matches, and six T20s, amassing over 1,100 runs. SRH has secured his services for the remainder of IPL 2025 for a sum of Rs 30 lakh.

Zampa’s departure is a significant blow to SRH, as the team was hoping for strong contributions from the Australian spinner. However, the management remains hopeful that Ravichandran’s addition will provide the necessary support to the team’s batting line-up.

This news comes just after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also made a change to their squad. CSK had to pick Ayush Mhatre as a replacement for their injured captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad. Gaikwad had suffered an elbow fracture, which ruled him out for the rest of the season. Mhatre, a promising right-handed batter, has played nine first-class matches and seven List A games, scoring nearly 1,000 runs. He joins CSK for a similar amount of Rs 30 lakh.
