Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Salim Khan came together at the funeral of actor Manoj Kumar. The funeral was held on April 5, 2025, in Mumbai, a day after Manoj Kumar passed away due to age-related illness. He was 87 years old.

Amitabh Bachchan arrived at the funeral with his son, Abhishek Bachchan. While leaving the cremation ground, Amitabh saw Salim Khan, who was also there to pay his last respects. The two shared a warm moment. Amitabh walked up to Salim Khan, held his hand, spoke to him, and hugged him before heading to his car.

Their meeting reminded many of the close bond they once shared. Salim Khan, along with Javed Akhtar, had played a major role in shaping Amitabh’s early career. The duo gave him the famous “Angry Young Man” image through their powerful stories and dialogues in films like Zanjeer and Deewaar. Both Amitabh and Salim have spoken about their past in a documentary called Angry Young Men, available on Prime Video.

Salim Khan once shared in an old interview that even though they are not very close now, he worked on many films with Amitabh. He said sometimes people who are used to success feel shocked when they face failures.

Manoj Kumar’s death was confirmed by his son, Kunal Goswami. He said his father had been unwell for a long time and passed away peacefully at 3:30 AM at Kokilaben Hospital. He also mentioned that Manoj Kumar faced all his health struggles with strength and faith.
