Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal are all set to bring their highly anticipated Malayalam film, L2: Empuraan, to the big screen. The movie is scheduled for release on March 27, 2025. However, recent reports suggested that the film might face delays due to financial issues involving its production company, Lyca Productions.
L2: Empuraan – Mohanlal’s New Look Unveiled
Lyca Productions, which was originally involved in financing the film, is reportedly struggling financially. As a result, Mohanlal’s production company, Aashirvad Cinemas, is considering removing Lyca from the project and taking charge of the release independently. This created speculation that the film might not release on time.

To address these rumors, Mohanlal recently shared a brand-new poster from the movie. The poster features him in a stylish look, which has excited fans. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is also directing the movie, posted the same image on Instagram, adding a powerful caption: “At your highest moment… be careful! That’s when… The Devil comes for you!” This suggests that the film is still on track for its scheduled release.
L2: Empuraan is a sequel to the 2019 film Lucifer, where Mohanlal played the intriguing character Khureshi Ab’raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally. In this sequel, he will reprise his role with an even more intense and powerful presence. The film also stars Tovino Thomas and Manju Warrier in key roles, while Deepak Dev has composed the music.
