Jury Duty Season 2 Announced: New Setting, Same Fun on Amazon Prime Video

Jury Duty

Amazon Prime Video has officially renewed the hit comedy series “Jury Duty” for a second season. The first season, which aired in 2023 on Amazon Freevee, became a surprise success, winning over audiences with its unique format and hilarious storyline. With Freevee no longer operating, the show will now be available on Amazon Prime Video.

Jury Duty Season 2 Announced

Season 2 will take a new direction, moving away from the courtroom setting. Instead, it will be based at a corporate retreat, offering a fresh environment for the series’ signature humor and hidden-camera-style storytelling. The filming took place in Agoura Hills, a suburban area of Los Angeles.

The first season followed Ronald Gladden, an unsuspecting juror who believed he was part of a real court case. However, in a shocking twist, it was revealed that the entire trial was staged, and everyone except him was an actor. The show combined elements of reality TV and scripted comedy, making it an engaging and entertaining watch. Actor James Marsden played a fictionalized version of himself, adding to the comedic appeal.

In previous interviews, showrunner Cody Heller hinted at the possibility of expanding “Jury Duty” into different settings. She explained that repeating the courtroom scenario would not work, as viewers would quickly recognize the concept. Instead, the team explored new ideas, leading to the corporate retreat theme for Season 2. Executive producers David Bernad and Todd Schulman also supported this creative direction.

The first season featured a talented cast, including Mekki Leeper, Alan Barinholtz, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola, Susan Berger, Cassandra Blair, and many others. While the cast for Season 2 has not been officially announced, fans can expect a similar mix of comedic talent and unsuspecting participants.

Following the success of “Jury Duty,” Amazon signed an overall deal with Ronald Gladden. Under this agreement, Gladden will collaborate with the studio to develop and star in new content across different platforms.
