Keerthy Suresh recently made her Bollywood debut in the film Baby John, starring alongside Varun Dhawan. This film is a Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Theri, which starred Thalapathy Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. During a recent interview, Keerthy revealed that Samantha played an important role in helping her land the Bollywood role.
Samantha’s Role in Keerthy’s Bollywood Debut
According to Keerthy, Samantha had suggested her name to the makers of Baby John. Keerthy shared that Varun Dhawan had informed her that Samantha recommended her for the role, and she expressed deep gratitude for the gesture. Keerthy also mentioned that Samantha’s recommendation made her feel confident, as she believed she could do justice to the character.

Keerthy spoke highly of Samantha’s performance in Theri, calling it one of her favorites in Tamil cinema. She admitted feeling a bit nervous about taking on the role in the Hindi remake. “She probably had me in mind when this was happening; that’s what Varun also told me. I can’t be grateful enough for that. It’s so sweet of her to say, ‘Keerthy will be able to pull off this character,’” Keerthy said.
After the release of the Baby John trailer, Samantha showed her support by sharing an Instagram story exclusively with Keerthy. Keerthy was touched by the gesture, calling it incredibly sweet, and said she couldn’t have asked for a better Bollywood debut.
Although Keerthy’s Bollywood career is now off to a good start, rumors have circulated about her possible exit from acting after her wedding. These rumors gained attention due to the fact that Keerthy has only two signed projects at the moment: Revolver Rita and Kannivedi. However, Keerthy has not confirmed or commented on these rumors.
