Richa Chadha Slams Delhi’s Pollution
Delhi is well-known for its high pollution levels, and the situation worsens during the festive season when the burning of firecrackers contributes to an increase in toxic air. Richa expressed her deep concern after watching a video on social media showing firecrackers lighting up the sky while the city was engulfed in a thick layer of smog. In some areas, the AQI (Air Quality Index) reportedly exceeded 1000, which is considered hazardous for human health.
In her post, Richa Chadha shared how heartbreaking it was to witness this environmental damage, especially because it’s something she holds close to her heart. “The death sentence called life in Delhi… the city of my childhood, my school, my roots,” she wrote, reflecting on her bond with the city. She also criticized the apathy of citizens and expressed disappointment over the lack of action from politicians, calling on people to speak up for their environment.
Richa’s concerns are not just about the current situation but also the long-term impacts of climate change. In a previous interview, she shared that the worsening weather conditions, such as extreme temperatures in summer and winter, had made her uncertain about having children, fearing for their future in an increasingly unpredictable climate.
On the work front, Richa Chadha is preparing for the release of her upcoming project, Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai. She took a brief break from acting after the birth of her daughter with her husband, Ali Fazal, but is now back to work and continuing to advocate for the environment alongside her acting career.
