Chris Pine recently spoke about the possibility of returning for The Princess Diaries 3. While he is excited about the announcement of the sequel, he is unsure if he will reprise his role as Nicholas Devereaux.

During an appearance on the Today show with Hoda & Jenna on October 8, Pine was asked if he would share the screen again with Anne Hathaway, who plays Mia Thermopolis. He responded that he hasn’t been in talks about the project and honestly doesn’t know if he will return to Genovia, the fictional country in the films. Pine humorously suggested that fans should contact Disney or its CEO, Bob Iger, for more information.

Despite his uncertainty, Pine expressed enthusiasm for the film, saying he thinks it’s fantastic that a third movie is being made.
Anne Hathaway will return to the franchise as Mia Thermopolis. The third installment comes 20 years after the release of the last film, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. The new movie will be directed by Adele Lim, known for her work on Crazy Rich Asians. Lim is excited about promoting themes of female empowerment, joy, and mentorship in the film.
Hathaway has also shared her excitement about Lim directing the new film. Last year, she informed fans to be patient while waiting for the sequel, as it takes time to develop.
