Garth Brooks, the well-known country music star, has been accused of sexual misconduct by a former makeup artist who worked with him for 15 years. However, Brooks is denying these allegations and claims that the accuser is attempting to extort him by making false claims to get money.
Garth Brooks Extortion Allegations
According to reports, the makeup artist, identified as “Jane Roe,” recently filed a lawsuit against Brooks on October 3. She alleges that Brooks engaged in inappropriate behavior, including unwanted sexual touching, creating a hostile work environment, and even sexual assault. Some of the incidents are said to have occurred at Brooks’s home and during events where she was hired to work.

Garth Brooks, however, tells a different story. He says that the accuser first approached him for financial help after she moved from Tennessee to Mississippi in 2020. Out of friendship and loyalty, Brooks claims he provided her with assistance. Over time, her requests for money allegedly increased. When he refused to give her more or meet her demands for a permanent salary and medical benefits, she allegedly threatened him with a lawsuit.
Brooks states that on July 17, he received a “confidential demand letter” from the accuser’s attorney. This letter, according to Brooks, falsely accused him of sexual misconduct and outlined several serious allegations, such as sexual grooming and unwanted advances. The singer claims that the letter referred to other high-profile sexual misconduct cases and hinted at multi-million-dollar settlements, which he believes was an attempt to pressure him into paying a large sum of money to avoid public humiliation.
Feeling that he was being extorted, Brooks took legal action on September 13 by filing a complaint anonymously in Mississippi. His goal was to seek a declaration from the court that these allegations were false. Additionally, he is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as legal protection from further harm to his career and personal reputation.
On the other hand, Jane Roe alleges that Garth Brooks inappropriate behavior began in 2019, with one incident reportedly happening at his home where she says he walked out of the shower naked and forced her to touch him. She claims other similar incidents occurred over time, including one where she was allegedly raped during an event.
Garth Brooks has denied all the allegations against him, stating that he is not the person his accuser describes. He also mentioned that he tried to handle the situation discreetly by filing his initial complaint anonymously, aiming to protect the reputation of both parties. Currently, the case is still unfolding, and both parties are seeking damages from each other.
