Garth Brooks Faces Sexual Assault Lawsuit from Former Makeup Artist, Denies All Allegations

Garth Brooks, a popular country music star, is facing serious allegations from his former hairstylist and makeup artist, referred to as Jane Roe in legal documents. She has accused Brooks of multiple instances of sexual misconduct, including assault and harassment. The alleged incidents reportedly took place in 2019 during a work relationship that began in 2017.

According to the lawsuit filed in California state court, Roe claims that Brooks behaved inappropriately on several occasions. One of the most serious accusations describes an incident during a business trip to Los Angeles in May 2019. Roe alleges that Brooks booked a hotel suite with only one bedroom, leaving her alone with him. According to her statement, Brooks appeared naked in the doorway and assaulted her.

Roe also accuses Brooks of other disturbing behavior, including exposing himself, making inappropriate comments, and forcing her hands onto his genitals while at his home. She describes a hostile and unsafe work environment where she faced repeated vulgar advances and harassment.

Garth Brooks has strongly denied all the accusations, calling them false and part of an extortion attempt. In a statement to CNN, Brooks expressed frustration, claiming that Roe’s attorney had sent him a demand letter threatening to go public with the allegations unless he provided a high-paying job and medical benefits.

Brooks filed his own lawsuit anonymously under the name “John Doe” before Roe’s allegations became public. In his complaint, he accused Roe and her legal team of attempting to damage his reputation for financial gain. He mentioned that for the past two months, he has been dealing with repeated threats and false statements.

“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars,” Brooks said. He insisted that agreeing to such demands would amount to paying hush money for actions he did not commit.

Roe’s attorneys rejected Brooks’ claims, stating that their client is seeking justice, not financial gain. They argued that Brooks’ preemptive legal action was an attempt to silence Roe and intimidate her from moving forward with her complaint. Her legal team emphasized their confidence in holding Brooks accountable.

In their response, they noted that sexual misconduct is not limited to specific industries like Hollywood or corporate America but can also occur in the country music world. “We are confident that Brooks will be held accountable for his actions,” stated her lawyers.
